Sir Hide-a-lot Party Heist

Sir Hide-a-lot: Silent Knight of Heists

A Social Deduction Game of Secret Pockets, Silent Lies, and Perfect Crimes

Objective:

One player must secretly steal Sir Hide-a-lot and keep him hidden (in a pocket, bag, etc.) without anyone noticing. If the group fails to identify the thief in the vote, the thief must reveal themselves in a grand confession, proving their victory!

Game Setup:

Place Sir Hide-a-lot in an obvious spot (center table, mantelpiece, throne of chips).

The Host declares, "A thief walks among you. By night’s end, Sir Hide-a-lot will vanish—and only the slyest will escape blame."

The game begins as soon as guests arrive.

How to Play:

The Theft:

At any point, a guest may secretly take Sir Hide-a-lot and hide him (pocket, purse, etc.).

If anyone sees the theft happen, the thief fails instantly!

The Discovery:

Once the group notices Sir Hide-a-lot is missing, the host gathers everyone for an accusation round.

Players debate, lie, and bluff—the thief must keep a straight face!

The Vote:

Everyone (including the thief) votes for who they suspect.

If the thief gets zero votes → Victory. The host rewards them (e.g., a prize, money, candy, a crown, or a new house).

If the thief gets even one vote → They fail! Sir Hide-a-lot returns, and the game continues.

Brilliant Variations:

"The Phantom Thief" – The thief must return Sir Hide-a-lot to a new spot after 10 minutes, adding a second layer of deception.

"The Witness Rule" – If someone sees the theft but stays silent, they become an accomplice and win if the thief escapes blame. (But a vote on any of them and they both lose)

"The Royal Pardon" – If the thief is accused but convinces the accuser to change their vote, they win anyway.

When to Play?

Sir Hide-a-lot is perfect for:

Dinner parties (who pockets the knight between courses?)

Drinks & game nights (sneakiness increases with liquid courage)

Weekend gatherings (long-term psychological warfare)

Medieval-themed parties (declare the winner the "Shadow Baron")

Final Rule:

"A true thief leaves no trail—only doubt."
Reset, Sir Hide-a-lot, let paranoia simmer, and may the best sneak prevail!

Will you be the shadow that passes unseen… or the fool who points the wrong finger? ⚔️
